Scottish Rite Education Series:

The Scottish Rite Master Craftsman (SRMC) program is an exciting by-mail correspondence course designed and administered by staff at the House of the Temple in Washington, D.C., under the guidance and leadership of the Supreme Council, 33°, of the A. & A. Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction, U.S.A. Consisting of six lessons, it utilizes The Scottish Rite Ritual Monitor and Guide by Arturo de Hoyos, 33°, and A Bridge to Light by Rex Hutchens, 33°, Grand Cross, as its textbooks, and is available at the low price of $35, plus s/h.
Here in the Valley of Huntsville, we would like to help organize the efforts of a growing number of our members who are enrolled in the course. Also, for those who are interested in starting, this page has useful information and contacts within the membership. This is not a fund-raising venture to support your Scottish Rite. This book is an amazing and comprehensive instructional text to explain and expand your knowledge of the Scottish Rite degrees.
Part I
Consisting of 6 lessons, it utilizes The Scottish Rite Ritual Monitor and Guide (2nd Edition) by Arturo de Hoyos. The course fee includes all 6 lessons and materials, the Ritual Monitor and Guide, and a personalized certificate and lapel pin upon completion of the program.
Your first shipment will include a welcome letter, the first quiz and return envelope, and a handsome folder in which to keep your work organized. Also included is Arturo de Hoyos` incomparable resource: The Scottish Rite Ritual Monitor and Guide.
Part II
This is a by-mail correspondence course in nine sections designed for Scottish Rite Members who have completed Master Craftsman I. Returning to the texts from the first program (The Ritual Guide and Monitor and A Bridge to Light), this course re-explores the ritual on a deeper level, looking for the moral lesson imparted in each degree and then applying that lesson to one`s everyday life. Designed, supported, and administered by staff at the House of the Temple in Washington, DC under the guidance and leadership of the Supreme Council, 33° of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Southern Jurisdiction.
Your first shipment will include a welcome letter, the first quiz, return envelope, a reflective essay by Albert Mackey on Masonic Education, and a handsome folder in which to keep your work organized. The course fee includes all lessons and materials as well as a personalized certificate and lapel pin upon completion of the program. (There are no additional texts for this course as it utilizes the texts from Master Craftsman I.)
Brothers, don't feel bad if you have not made very much progress in this
course. Our lives are busy and the size of the book is intimidating.
I have spoken to a few brothers whose book is still in the
shrink-wrap months after purchasing the course. We want to organize
study groups to help each other. Click on the picture of the Supreme Assembly building below to enroll through their website, or call one of
us in the contact list below to help you order the course. We may have course material on hand.
Below is a list of the brothers who have begun the SRMC course. Columns labeled “Part I” and “Part II” show the lesson turned in, or if the part is completed. E-mail a brother whose e-mail address is listed below if you want to join a study group.
